ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING
What’s the program all about?
REAL Environmental Engineering is all about unearthing environmental secrets to build things in the real world. Bridges, architecture, greenhouses and other real-world structures all “work” because of engineering. Learning these skills sets students up for a variety of college and career opportunities. It’s a field that’s in high demand.
What will students learn?
Student will learn how to unpack, construct and build real-world structures using the secrets of engineering. Whether it’s designing using 3D modeling and printing, constructing a usable bridge, building and launching a GPS-enabled sailboat, or uncovering the steps to grow plants hydroponically, students unlock the methods to solving real-world problems.
What courses will students take?
REAL Environmental Engineering offers a variety of exciting and hands-on courses, including courses that are part of the Project Lead the Way curriculum.
Project Lead the Way is an award-winning, highly relevant, hands-on curriculum that empowers students to solve real-world challenges. Central Falls High School is proud to offer this transformative and imaginative learning experience for our Biomedical and Environmental Engineering programs. Courses include:
Introduction to Engineering Design
Principles of Engineering
Environmental Sustainability
Engineering Design and Development
Students will also have earned 80 hours of work-based learning upon program completion.
What career opportunities does this provide?
Graduates of our program could go on to become:
Civil Engineers
Environmental Engineers
Mechanical Engineers
Computer Engineers
And there are many other possible career paths in this field.
