CFSD Families,
December 31, 2021
I hope you and yours have had a restful and healthy holiday season. Our team has spent much of the break working with RIDOH, RIDE, and City leaders to create a return plan that keeps everyone in the CFSD community as safe as possible.
We are implementing a staggered return that will allow the district to conduct testing as students return to prevent potential exposures.
Grades will return to school as follows:
All staff, regardless of grade level, will be expected to be back in school on Monday, January 3.
Students at Captain Hunt and Veterans Elementary will fully return in person on Monday. Both schools have rates of permission to test that we can test everyone with permission that first day.
Pre-K, kindergarten, and grades 1, 3, 5, 7, 11, and 12 will return to class Monday, January 3, and continue in person.
Grades 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, and 10 students will have a DL day Monday and then return to in-person learning on Tuesday, January 4.
Finally, if you have not yet, make sure to schedule a vaccination appointment by visiting www.vaccinateri.org. Further, those 16 or older who have received a primary series of the COVID-19 vaccine are eligible for a booster. More information on boosters can be found at www.covid.ri.gov/boosterdoses. Vaccines have proven to be safe and they are the most effective tool we have to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in schools and our community.
Wishing you and yours a safe and as healthy as possible 2022.
