Using Outlook Web Access In Central Falls

Introduction

Opening Email

  • Open a Web browser.
  • When you are logged into a computer located in a school or office in the district, the home page will load to http://inside.cfschools.net. (This website is only available from computers physically located in buildings in the district) .

    If you have Windows XP, follow the directions below:

    You will see a login screen.

    Fill in your username with cf preceding it, as shown:cf\username and then put in your network password.

     

    If you have Windows 2000, your screen will require:

     

  • Outlook Web Access will open to your Inbox automatically.

      NOTE: When first opening OWA, the view will default to your Inbox and any new messages you have.

    Mail Folder Icons and Explanations

    1. Icon

      Explanation

      update all folders

      Update All Folders - update or refresh all folders in your e-mail account

      create a new message

      New - create a new message (click the down arrow to select to create a new message, appointment, contact, distribution list, task, post in this folder, or folder)

      move/copy

      Move/Copy - move or copy a selected message to another folder within your e-mail account

      delete

      Delete - delete the selected message

      reply

      Reply - reply to the sender of a selected message

      reply to all

      Reply to all - reply to the sender and all recipients of a selected message

      forward

      Forward - forward the selected message on to another recipient

      show/hide reading pane

      Show/Hide Reading Pane - turn the reading pane off or set the position to the bottom or the right of the e-mail list

      check for new messages

      Check for New Messages - check for new messages in your Inbox

      search

      Search - search in the currently open mail folder (and subfolders if any) for a word or phrase in the subject or body of an e-mail or for a particular sender or recipient of an e-mail

      address book

      Address Book - search for names in the UW Global Address List or your own Contacts list

      help

      Help - view help information starting with information on the Inbox

      message selection window

      Message selection - go to a specific message within the currently open mail folder (enter the number of an e-mail, and press ENTER)

      first page, previous page, next page, last page

      First Page, Previous Page, Next Page, Last Page - go to a particular page of e-mails within the currently open mail folder


     

    New Message Icons and Explanations

      send Send - send the message
      save Save - save the message
      print Print - print the message
      insert signature Insert Signature - insert your signature in the body of the message (if you have not yet created one, select Options in the Navigation Pane, and click Edit Signature)
      spelling Spelling - check for spelling errors in the message
      add attachment Add Attachment - add an attachment to the message
      check names Check Names - check the names in the To, Cc, and Bcc fields against the UW Global Address List and your own Contacts list
      importance: high Importance: High - mark the message as high importance
      importance: low Importance: Low - mark the message as low importance
      options Options - set the importance and sensitivity levels and the tracking options for the message (delivery and read receipts)
      help Help - view help information starting with information on creating a new message
      to button To - enter the addresses of the primary recipients of the message (click the icon to select a name from the UW Global Address List or your own Contacts list)
      cc button (carbon copy) Cc - (carbon copy) enter the addresses of the secondary recipients of the message (click the icon to select a name from the UW Global Address List or your own Contacts list)
      bbc button (blind carbon copy) Bcc - (blind carbon copy) enter the addresses of any recipients you wish to remain hidden or unknown to all other recipients (click the icon to select a name from the UW Global Address List or your own Contacts list)
      attachments button Attachments - lists any attachments to the message (click the icon to add or remove attachments)

      go to today in the calendar Go to Today in the calendar - go to today's appointments
      daily, weekly, monthly view selection Switch to Daily View, Switch to Weekly View, Switch to Monthly View - view your appointments for a particular day, week, or month
      check for new messages Check for New Messages - check for new messages in your Inbox
      search Search - search in the calendar for a word or phrase in the subject or body of an appointment or for a particular sender or recipient of an appointment
